"The Parador is on the edge of the town with easy access from the A road. We parked at the Parador and checked in, we had wonderful rooms overlooking the gardens with a lovely shaded balcony and a great pod coffee machine. We spent a while alternately listening to birdsong and the sound of military jets from the nearby airbase, home to the Spanish equivalent of 'Top Gun'.
The reason we'd chosen Albacete, other than it being a convenient stop on the way home, was the Botanic Gardens. These opened at 7PM so we had dinner at the Parador - delicious veal burgers whilst sat on the terrace - before we drove the short distance to the gardens.
The rooms were amazingly quiet considering how close the main road was and the bird sone was far more noticeable than the traffic. Breakfast was, as always with Paradors, fabulous.
An excellent value stay and certainly a place I'd return to."
"A beautiful lobby but it stops there really; the rest of the Hotel is tired and could do with a huge makeover. The bedroom had chipped furniture ( but was comfortable ) and was missing things like a room safe. Shower was good and breakfast was ok but overall felt letdown."
"This is a dog-friendly hotel, and the staff are very nice. It is promoted as a 4-star hotel and it really isn't. Decor is from the 1990s, the lobby is dark, the rings, while large, feel very stark. It's just not a great feeling. Also, the walls are very thin and you can hear conversations from neighbouring rooms."
"ok; great views of the town, Alcala del Jucar; it is not in the town, is in another town, car is needed, no transportation available there; nothing around it, so car is needed to get food etc. Nice though, a bit pricey for what you get."
