"We had a wonderful 3 night stay. The location, the room, the pool, the staff were all very good. We saw some very negative and very positive reviews and so we were very curious about how our stay would be. We are Marriott Platinum Elite Members and this property is not one of the finer Marriott properties, but it could have been a nice Marriott property with all of the amenities. We were very pleasantly surprised. We will stay here again."

"What an amazing place. We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was slightly secluded, which gave it a nice feel. Definitely jungle vibes without having to actually be in the jungle. "Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"

"We had the best stay at awa!! The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back"

"This has to be the most unique hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The layout of the hotel is so cool and unique. Although the rooms were small, it really has everything that you need. The bed was super comfortable and I got really good sleep. The people at the hotel were super kind, super accommodating and very friendly. I absolutely love the music that they were playing in the background so much that I even asked for the playlist. The breakfast was absolutely amazing every day I had the pancakes, the rice and the French toast. Everything was delicious. I also had dinner there one night and it was pretty good as well. The drinks at the bar were good and the bartender was kind and quick."
