![Old Manor House site, Topcliffe Known as Manor Hills or Cock Lodge, this is the site of a medieval manor house belonging to the Percys. The view shows the outer ditch and bank in the foreground with the inner ditch [moat] and bank beyond. The conical mound was the site of a windmill. The manor is thought to have been erected in the 13th century and was described as 'ruinous' in a survey of the estate in 1577. The site is on private land and there is no public access.](https://images.trvl-media.com/place/3000452764/ad4881a4-c4ac-46d1-8d24-2889737c72aa.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=512&h=288&q=medium)
