"Really enjoyed our stay at Mountain Heights Lodge. They were so helpful, as we had accidentally booked for the wrong night. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. We also appreciated the continental breakfast in the morning. Would absolutely stay here again."

"Good location, especially for the Teranaki Falls walk, but also for Tongoriro Crossing (20 minutes drive to the trail head). The staff was friendly. The room was clean and as-described. The property is a little old/dated. Also, the hot tub is only available 3pm to 8pm and you need to reserve a 30-minute slot (on the plus side you get the hot tub to yourself for the 30 minute slot, and the clean it fully every day). "

"Everything was ok and Plateau Lodge is one of the best we have stayed for our hiking trips. The only little problem is just photo displayed when I booked. It shows a nice outdoor bath tub, so I expected the room I booked looks like this. However, that is indeed for another room type."

"The cabin was fantastic, very clean and tidy - most of all very, very quiet. The attention from the female caretaker was outstanding, she made sure everything was to our satisfaction, all in all a great stay. Would recommend to anyone to stay there."

"Fun place for families. Our kids enjoyed the mini golf course (which is 9 hole and simple and covered with leaves/acorns, but still good) and the hot tub (which you can reserve for a 30-minute slot). Our 3-bedroom apartment was a little dated but clean and spacious. "

"The deluxe cabin was a pleasure to stay in. Parking right alongside. It had everything we needed (excl bathroom) and was spotlessly clean. The toilet block was a short walk opposite which almost made up for not having our own ensuite. My only downside was the lack of a second shower block near the cabin.. It was situated a good way from.the cabin."

"We were only here for three nights but loved the time we had here. It was welcoming, spotless and our fridge was stocked everyday with breakfast foods, even bacon. The kitchen was really well stocked as was the rest of the house. For us, instead of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night, we were able to hear the river and drop off to sleep with that beautiful sound, it really was a luxury home away from home. "It looks like the place has been going thru renovations. The room has new kitchen and floor, may be carpet too. It is about 15-20 min. to the NP visitor center and many thrailheads and has restaurants and supermarket nearby. Since the room has full pane glass as wall and access door along the corridor ( much like patio door ) which allows full view of the mountains and also tenants walking on the corridor. For privacy, you need to close the curtain."

"I stayed for 3 nights during local trail running race event. The place is really tidy and well maintained. I sensed the owners' passion for this place and Tongariro region. The kitchen is spacious, has large fridges and everything you need. You can bring your own food and cook without any hassles. The lounge is even better with pool table and table tennis table. There are two decent restaurants, a petrol station and 4-square supermarket nearby, so you can find all the essentials. "

"Mieliśmy bardzo udany pobyt w Tongariro River Retreat. Ian naprawdę bardzo się stara i jest wspaniałym gospodarzem - ogromnie dziękujemy za wszelką życzliwość i pomoc!!! Pokój był czysty i wystarczający na 2 dniowy pobyt, dodatkowo do dyspozycji Gości jest bardzo przestronna i w pełni wyposażona kuchnia a także bardzo przestronny salon.
