"The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!"

"We had two rooms during our stay, and unfortunately neither had hot water for showers on either night. We reported the issue and were told to run the water for 15–20 minutes to heat up. Even after waiting that long, the water was only lukewarm at best.
Breakfast was fair, the rooms were clean, and the staff was nice and understanding, which we did appreciate. However, the lack of hot water was a major inconvenience.This was a 300.00 a night room. With no compensation for the inconvenience....
