"We got this place because it could cater to a party of 7 adults + 2 kids. Surprisingly when we got the keys we could have easily slept 12-14 people as we had more beds then heads. This made our stay super comfortable. Beds were comfy and there was lots of space, it wasn't cramped. It's not a super modern motel but was great value for money, especially for a big group. I will book here again."

"Love Wairakei Resort, always have. But not such a great experience over Kings Birthday Weekend. Booked a garden 'villa' I think it was called, like a semi-detached, with another adjoining unit attached. That the reservations crew booked us into a unit with a noisy family/chaotic kids on the other side of the wall when there were other units/'villas' available seems crazy. It was a long weekend, but by no means fully booked & not all with rowdy hyperactive kiddies. As the place wasn't full, it would have been better for everyone surely - over-stretched mum & family, & tired older couple needing a quiet night to break a long drive, if a bit more thought could have gone into the rooms allocated. Otherwise, room itself, facilities, pools, bar, etc all good 👍"
