"We stayed at Hotel Baren for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms are very clean and a good size. It is in a good location to explore the town and we also thought it was very reasonably priced."
"It was an older hotel and very nice with the remodel. It was expensive but a good price for the area. Great location and close to the ski-lift and restaurants/shops. Be prepared to walk hills and steps and if you’re coming from the train station, get a taxi if you have luggage!"
"The hotel was very expensive for what it was. The rooms were nice but in need of some modernisation, especially the bathrooms. It also irked me that all of the decent facilities were in the sister hotel which we’d have rather stayed at. The staff were all lovely but some of the information we were given turned out to be wrong and when we had an issue with a private taxi they had booked for us they weren’t helpful at all. The also didn’t tell us that there would be works going on during our stay which included the table and chairs being removed from the lobby and the carpet being covered! "
"Room in decent condition. Housekeeping good for first few days but dropped off badly for the second half of the stay - dirty cups not replaced with clean, sugar sachets and teabags not replenished, etc. However my main reason for dissatisfaction is that I overheard some other guests being told that there was a ‘small’ breakfast option that didn’t cost as much as the full 24CHF buffet breakfast. I was not aware of this as there is mention of it on this site. If I had known, I could have saved myself the hassle of bringing supplies to keep my costs down during my stay. Better advertisement of the small breakfast option would have meant me spending extra money with them, too. "
"Great until the last hour. We reserved the hotel to train station shuttle then the driver had to apparently do something else which meant he arrived back 15 minutes later and needed his mandatory lunch break. They arranged a taxi for us but that resulted in a 25 minute delay. No apology at all. As a result, we missed our appointment in town. "
