"The hotel was pretty good, staff was friendly, room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was good, however the sink drained very slowly. Also, one of the elevators was out of order while we were there and the remaining elevator was very slow. The pool was closed one of the two days we were there so we were not able to use it. It also looked like the fire pit wasn't working that first day. We saw people outside and around it on our second day though. We were happy the room had a fridge. The location was interesting. It was inside what appeared to be a shopping center, however after looking at the other businesses inside, most were just professional businesses. There were a few food places in there, a movie theater, and a brewery, but no real shopping stores there. You have to travel a bit to get anywhere else. We picked this hotel because it was most central to the things we wanted to do while in the area."
"Upon arrival, the gentleman who greeted us was extemly nice and professional. However, he didnt know wich room or area we were staying in.
He asked if we were staying in the Farm house we said yes. He then began to ask if we were sure we wanted to stay in that room since it was two bedrooms and there was only two of us. (Absolutely this is what we paid for.) He took us to the farm suite wich i thought was very nice. Until he opened the door and there was another guests stuff in the room.
He apologized, we all had a laugh, and then i pulled up my reservation and confirmed it was the apartment not the suite. He drove us back to the lobby to get the farm house suite key.
I was willing to let that go, this morning we were trying to catch the 11:00am ferry. We stoped in the lobby to return our key and grab breakfast wich is listed from 8am-11am. We walked in at 10:20 asked the person cleaning the tables if we could grab some breakfast and were told no, its too late.
So to be honest, this "resort" has no real food on site, they do 30-45 minutes of "champagn and nibble" in the evening, and breakfast for 2 hours at 8am.
Note to the owner: Subpar experience for $500 a night."
"Stayed here one night while passing through. Room was smaller than I expected (patio king). I also assumed the patio was attached to the room but it was not. Room floor was dirty (sand, etc.) otherwise room was clean. Our coffee pot didn’t work. There was a $50 dog fee upon check in that wasn’t listed at time of booking online so that was a surprise. Staff were super friendly and happy to see our dogs. We did receive a doggy gift bag at check in. Hotel was in a great location. Restaurant attached to hotel was nice as well."
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott South Kingstown Newport Area
8/10 Good
"We wish the breakfast eggs and sides were a little bit higher quality. Having the breakfast is a nice amenity but the items were not as good as expected."
