"Mapakada Village is a beautiful hotel, tucked away from the regular tourist route - but it’s well worth heading here. It’s set against a stunning lake, where you can do various activities and wildlife spotting. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. I’d especially recommend the superior double, which looks out to the lake and the pool. We actually stayed at Mapakada Village a little by accident, during a storm - and we were so looked after, especially by Dinesh. He went above and beyond to help get us back to Negombo in time for our flight, actually driving us several hours himself, which was incredibly kind. Staying here for a couple of nights was exactly what we needed. Thanks so much!"

"We stayed 4 nights at Walaa Kulu, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The villa is truly luxurious, beautifully furnished, and designed to take full advantage of the stunning panoramic views that surround it. Every room offers a breathtaking outlook — the kind that photos simply cannot capture. The heated pool overlooking the lush green hills was an absolute highlight, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing evening swim even when the air cooled down. What really made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding team. Nishanthan and Rinoshkanth went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable at every moment. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and warmth made the experience feel incredibly personal — from arranging our excursions to ensuring that even our smallest preferences were remembered. They made us feel at home while delivering 5-star service throughout our stay. The kitchen team — Chef Susantha, Chef Raja, and Kolith — deserve special mention. Every meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, whether we opted for Sri Lankan specialties or Western dishes. We originally booked our stay with breakfast included, but were pleasantly surprised to find a full à la carte menu available daily from 7am to 10pm, with the staff ready to serve lunch and dinner as well. The menu was extensive and very reasonably priced, making it both convenient and tempting to dine in every day. The villa itself exudes luxury — every detail has been thoughtfully curated, "

"They had no record of our reaction (that we had paid confirmation through hotels.com. They charged us cash to get a room. (Options in the area and time we arrived extremely limited). Had to try and negotiate an 11 check out at 9 suggested he wanted us out by 10 (place had no other guests). Very noisey all night"

"Surrounded by beautiful rice fields, wilderness and Peacocks this is an ideal place for who seeks a secure place for rest and respite. The hotel staff was amazingly nice and ready help. Those who travel from East like Trincomalee or Arugambay this would be an ideal rest stop. My meals by a la carte were delicious. Special thank to Food and Beverage Manager (sorry forgot the name) for his recommendations. "
