Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives - Kids Stay & Eat Free and DIVE FREE for Certified Divers for a minimum 3 nights stay
10/10 Excellent
"My only regret about booing this hotel was not booking for longer. This was a bolt on for us after a longer trip and everything about it was perfect. The water bungalow was spacious and comfortable. The main buffet restaurant was hugely varied, catering for vegetarians and vegans well, with everything labelled for all dietary requirements. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and happy! We booked two snorkel trips, one with sharks and a free one to the house reef. Both were excellent. The speedboat transfer was efficient and the Holiday Inn desk was easy to find at Male airport. Everything was priced in us$ but by the time service charge and green tax was added it equated roughly to gbp and drinks were a bit pricey - £6 for a Fanta £17 for a cocktail. However they were probably the best Pina colada’s I’ve ever had so worth it! You could walk the perimeter of the island in about 15 minutes but they had a good buggy service which we didn’t bother with as walking enabled us to appreciate the birds, iguanas and hermit crabs that we saw all the time. There were a couple of beaches which were stunning. The pool was huge with varying areas and depths. There was entertainment two of the three nights we stayed which we enjoyed but we also loved watching the fish or the stars from the hammock on our balcony. Some elements of the resort are a little tired but we felt that was such a triviality compared with how wonderful everything else was. We loved every minute. "
Adaaran Club Rannalhi - 45 Minutes away from Male by Speedboat
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi and would definitely recommend it to families and couples alike. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a comprehensive and professional briefing by Ollie, who set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
The stunning white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and excellent snorkelling make this a true Maldivian paradise. Whether you want to mingle or find a quiet corner to unwind, there’s plenty of space to do both.
The buffet meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner were a standout — probably the best selection I’ve come across in my extensive travels. The food caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs. A special shoutout to Moosa in the restaurant — his warmth, humour, attentive service, and even napkin artistry added a personal touch that made every meal feel special.
Housekeeping was also excellent, with twice-daily service that was always prompt and of high quality.
A few areas for improvement: the inclusive drink selection is lacking — low-end spirits, frequently substituted brands, only one beer on tap, and cocktails made from overly sweet, pre-mixed syrups. Also, the spa services and excursions are priced far too high for the all-inclusive market segment the resort is targeting, which seems to deter many guests from taking part.
Overall, a great resort with friendly service, incredible scenery and outstanding food — just a few tweaks would take it from great to exceptional."
"Como Cocoa is paradise on earth. This is now our favourite resort and we can’t wait to return. The resort is stunning with all rooms sitting over the water in the beautiful lagoon. The house reef is exceptional and the dive staff were knowledgeable and safe. The staff are friendly and professional, often greeting you by name, and are clearly happy in their work. Special mention goes to the chef, who makes the most delicious food and is very accommodating with the menu choices. "
"Veli is an amazing resort to visit. I cannot say enough about the staff at Veli. They were all so attentive to our needs and did everything in their capabilities to keep us happy. I really appreciated the management cocktail party because it gave us a chance to meet everyone who makes Veli such a wonderful experience. Loved Rifau, Prem, Ruth, and all the others who made our experience possible. "
