Endroit tres agréable pour se détendre et pour visiter la ville. Personnel tres agreable et toujours près à rendre service et à vous conseiller. Seul bémol, seulement le propriétaire parle français donc si il n'est pas la accueil en anglais ou portugais

Amazing staff and owners

We stayed here during Carnival and just prior to boarding a cruise. I loved this older, colonial boutique hotel. The bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning in our room but the fan in there was perfect and kept us cool all night. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. But best of all was the staff and the owners. They helped FIND and RETRIEVE our luggage which didn't arrive for our entire stay with them. But they were able to get it for us the day we were leaving to board our ship. They were amazing! No other BIG BRAND hotel would have given us the help they provided. Everything went off like clockwork, from having the luggage delivered to the taxi arriving to take us to the port. And besides all that, they were very friendly. One more thing, when we booked this hotel, we received a welcome email from them. They also offered to pick us up at the airport AND they explained about Carnival Parade tickets at the Sambodromo and had tickets available for us to purchase without a hassle. We were SO impressed! Once we were there, they also gave us safety guidelines and helped with directions to various locations. Some people say the neighborhood is dangerous. We did not find that. We walked all over the Santa Teresa neighborhood and never felt afraid. We also found a great little restaurant, Portella's, a few blocks from the hotel. We loved it. All in all, we would go back to this lovely, little boutique hotel again if we were in Rio.

Villa Laurinda is a must during our stay in Rio

My stay at Villa Laurinda was simply amazing!!! This quaint bed and breakfast gives you a very homely feel in the hills of Santa Teresa. The staff was AMAZING and very very welcoming! Thank you again :-)

Enfridfull oas i otroligt vacker omgivning

Haft en oförglömlig vistelse på Villa Laurinda! Blev väl omhändertagna från första början. Vi kom tidigt (före kl.09) och eftersom rum vi skulle ha, ej hunnit rengöras, så bjöds vi på delikat frukost medan vi väntade. Clayton som arbetar där, var alltid behjälplig och stod alltid till hands. Önskade stanna en extra natt, och då de bara hade ett enkelrum kvar,så satte de in en extrasäng! Service utöver det vanliga! Eftersom det rummet ej var bokat nästföljande dag, så fick vi behålla rum att förvara våra väskor i fram till avresa mot flygplats kl.20. Fick hjälp med att boka taxi också. Kommer definitivt att återvända, och Villa Laurinda kommer vara vårt förstahandsval för St.Teresa. Magiskt att sitta och äta frukost och lyssna på fågelkvitter med mangoträd och utsikt över poolen. Till och med kolibri och Tucan fågel såg vi! En oas i en otroligt vacker byggnad!

Amazing breakfast ! Need longer employee hours

Overall very good stay! The breakfast was excellent. Beds were hard and they forgot to leave us a blanket and because they leave at 6 and don't come back until 7 the next day,, we never got one so we slept with a sheet. Nice courtyard, very nice house and pretty close to town for great restaurants

Eine Insel von Schönheit und Ruhe

Das alte kolonialische Haus ist im sehr gute Zustand, wurde gute renovierte und liebvoll dekoriert. Es liegt im Santa Teresa, ein Viertel mit vielen Kneipen, Restaurants und eine tolle Atmosphäre. Nur der Zugang mit dem Tram ist im moment nicht möglich, weil die Schienen werden gerade jetzt renoviert und wir müssten deswegen oft ein Taxi bestellen. Die Strassen in der nähe sind oft sehr steil und ist vielleicht nicht so geeignet für Behinderte Personen. In Villa Laurinda wurden wir sehr nett empfangen und die Service ist hervorragend. Das Schwimmbad ist traumhaft mit viele Bäume, Vögel um herum. Diese Pousada ist sehr empfehlenswert.

My first stay in Rio

My stay was really good and i felt really safe and well looked after by the staff at the hotel who were helpful in direction of places to cisit and when.Breakfast was always the same, some variety would have been good, but there was always lots of it so that was good. There was one thing about my stay that i was not happy with. On my second day there, i went out andd left some things on my bed, room service cleaned and threw away my dentures, everything else was moved onto the bedside table but that was brushed onto the floor and swept out in a tissue, i informed the management immediately and they were not helpful about it nor willing to offer any form of compensation.

Awesome bed and breakfast.

Very nice bed and breakfast. Staff are very courteous and helpful, and breakfast is very good. Nice quiet neighborhood, 15 min walk to subway.I would stay again next time I am Rio. Definitely recommend.

Dans un quartier très calme et tranquille dans les hauteurs de Rio . Les transports bus ( 14. 7. 6 ) ne sont proches et la station de métro gloria à 15 minutes de marche .

Superbe endroit

Très jolie demeure au calme à la déco soignée dans les hauteurs de Rio.Proche du corcovado et du pain de sucre, bon restaurants et bar à proximité ( 10 mn à pied ) Clayton a été très disponible . La salle de bain partagée n'est absolument pas gênante . On recommande MARIE Line & Xavier .

Relaxing place to stay!

Villa Laurinda was extremely nice and relaxing. Also, it was very clean. The hotel staff helped us by calling the tour companies for us to arrange pick up. The only drawback was the cab ride to the more touristy locations.

Un endroit charmant !

Très bon accueil et service, Cleiton l'assistant manager est charmant et disponible ! La maison est belle et bien entretenu, le quartier est calme et sûre, et on trouve beaucoup de restaurants à quelques rues seulement. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux. Une très bonne adresse à Rio !

Não sabia que o banheiro era coletivo, pois era pra ser um hotel, não um hostel. Não há ar condicionado nos quartos. Piscina incrível! Volto mas para ficar em outro tipo de quarto. Café da manhã excelente! Paradisíaco o local!

Very pleasant and quiet. Close to several restaur

The accommodations were very pleasant, villa located in a progressive neighborhood with some local bars, restaurants and shops. Very quiet at night, and close to Tijuca park which is nice for running. I was very pleased with the accommodations and experience. A very nice alternative to the very hectic and noisy accommodationd by Ipanema and Copacabana.

Not for 1st time visit

This ws my 3rd time in Rio, so being in a new area to me was more important than convenient access to the sights of usual interest to the 1st time visitor. Sta. Teresa is an interesting, quirky area, but it can be time-consuming together anywhere other than Centro. Staff was welcoming. Rooms can be tiny. Very good breakfast, equally good honor bar for evenings.

A home away from home

Friendly staff who did everything to help, and made us feel safe and at home. Nice garden with a pool. Nice neighbourhood, felt safe at all hours, and with plenty og nice cafes.

LOVELY GARDEN VILLA

Rio is a very large city. Taking buses is a bit of hit and miss but it is do-able The taxis are much better and fairly cheap to use. There are good bars and restaurants to eat at just around the corner. We felt safe walking around even at night. The hotel staff were very pleasant and did speak english which was very helpful. The pool was very refreshing after a long hot and humid day.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

Villa Laurinda is like an oasis in the busy city of Rio. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the others guests were also polite. The breakfast was filling and generous, and we received good advice on what to do with our time in Rio. Santa Theresa is an up and coming district of the city, with a parade of art shops, cafes and bars to explore. It really is one if the hidden treasures of Rio. We stayed as a couple, which was ideal. I am sure they could cater everyone though, so just check in advance of your booking. The room was very tidy and clean. Although there was no safe, the rooms are locked. They have never had any trouble with break-ins, hence no need for a safe, which was fine. The pool is regularly cleaned, and there is an honesty list with the adjacent bar/fridge, which made us feel trusted and valued. If we ever go back to Rio, we would definitely stay again.

Idyllic location

Lucky to have the place to myself for four days. Fab breakfast. Good pool. Backs on to amazing mountain, very photogenic spot.
