First off the good stuff:
Beatuful location, very nice staff, decor was well done in the main building, the pool was really nice.
Issues:
- AVOID ROOM 2111!!! This was the first room given to us, and there's a machine in the utility room across the hall that runs VERY loud all night long... some kind of pump that kicks on and off over and over again and sounds like it's coming right into your room. I feel like there's no way they didn't know this about that room... but still put us in it. They eventually moved us after I brought the issue up, but it feels like they're just hoping people won't complain. We almost didn't, but after 3 days of no sleep I had to say something. They did move us, but to a room with no balcony and a view of a derelict and rundown facility next door. Definately a downgrade (but no reduction in our room rate).
- Transportation: It's not very close to ANYTHING, but they also refuse to call a local taxi for you to try and push you into using their shuttle service ($30 a ride to West end, vs a taxi being $15). For twice the cost, you'd expect a better ride, but one of the few we took smelled so strongly of gas fumes we had to ride with our heads out.
- Prices: Not the room, everything else. I get resort "upcharging" for things, but there's a reasonable limit.
- No coffee maker in the room... Which even cheap basic hotels provide.
- No bottles of water/etc in the room.
