"I picked the hotel due to the name (LOTR triggered!) then saw how reasonable the price was and booked. Did a little research and wow! what a location! I arrived quite late due to the flight times and the staff could not have been more attentive or helpful. Several times they courteously and patiently assisted me during my stay with directions for trams and recommendations. The housekeeping crew were excellent and unobtrusive, and the reception were absolutely delightful, nothing too much trouble...

"This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel. I have no idea who gives ratings for this hotel, but i was disgusted by the awful sewage smell in the hallways and the rooms are dated, with terrible furniture and configuration. Breakfast for €35 euro was nothing short of ripoff and had the worst food selection i have seen in French hotels including terrible, tasteless pastries which France is famous for. I dinned at their fancy restaurant which is looking to get their 1st Michelin. I must see the chef...

"We had a great stay at the Hotel Tandem and would stay again if we return to Strasbourg. The staff were helpful, the room was well laid out and clean and breakfast was excellent."
