"The front desk clerk was friendly but very monotone and didn’t have access to any linens, said it was locked. Had two rooms, one smelt like a pot grow while the other smelt like a basement. The rooms were dirty, debris on the floor, shower looked dirty enough for me to skip and the lamps were rusty. The floors and everything else was wet from condensation. The door frame had been broken and was screwed back together. The beds were made but there was some staining on the linens. I won’t be staying again."

"Most of the stay was great. Location is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. What really dampened the stay is we were there one day and the pool was closed that day for cleaning. I completely understand that the pool has to be cleaned, but I feel like there could be a better time to do the cleaning. like early morning before the pool opens, instead of closing the pool for the entire day. The pool at hotel galvez is amazing, it is the main reason we booked there is so we could relax and swim on our one day there. that didn't get to happen. It was very disappointing. It seems like they knew that this pool cleaning was going to happen, but still charged the full rate knowing their main amenity will not be available. Other than that problem, we enjoyed our stay"

"Other than the road construction it’s a nice easy facility to find. The room was huge and spacious. It was 10 out of 10!! The coffee was GREAT!! "

"Room had mold. Needed a cleaning if walls and headboards. Covered in dust and dust bunnies. Walls were damaged due to holes in drywall. Outside grounds and parking lot not clean. Very noisy place to stay."

"Clean room. Room didn’t smell bad. Air conditioning was working well and wasn’t loud. Beds were very clean and comfortable. Coffee and water was in the room for free. Staff was very friendly and accommodating."

"Beautiful, restored house in the historic district. Wonderful and helpful staff. It does not have an elevator because it is in the historic district but stairs are well lighted. Close to a wonderful cafe for breakfast and close to the port if you are going on a cruise."

"We stayed the night before our cruise embarkation. Best decision was to stay at this location, leave car on lot (additional fee), get transportation to cruise port (additional fee-one way or round trip). I will always pick this location when in the galveston area again. I highly recommend. "
