"Stayed one night at Millennium Rotorua with the family. The location is definitely the best part — very close to Polynesian Spa and only about a 10-minute walk to the shops and restaurants. But honestly, the hotel itself just felt like a basic room for a very high price. I really don’t understand why many hotels in New Zealand lack simple standard amenities that are common in Asia. "The ensuite room we stayed in had lovely views out over Rotorua and was nicely furnished with everything we needed. The hosts Dave and Shami were very welcoming with plenty of suggestions for things to do in the local area. Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of meats, cheeses and chutneys as well as different types of bread and an excellent fresh fruit salad. The location is a little outside the centre of Rotorua but provided a great base for exploring the area."
