We stayed in one of the pod rooms and it was great- the room is cosy but has plug sockets and everything you need for a night. The bed wasn’t really comfy, which is the reason I can’t give it 5 stars- it sagged in the middle and meant we woke up having not had the best sleep. But all the facilities such as bathroom and the downstairs social areas are lovely, high quality and well-kept.

My partner and I stayed in one of the pods - was so clean and tidy, everything felt brand new. If you’re staying in one of the pods, we recommend bringing cheap sliders / flip flops for the showers and walking around the shared bathroom area. The bathroom was very well maintained. When everyone is in their pods, you can’t hear a thing (so it really is soundproof) but if anyone is walking in the corridor and talking you can really hear it in your room. Considering there were big groups staying in other pods near to us, there was no disruptive noise! The staff were lovely, locked out of my room at 3am (in my flip flops) and a lovely fella at the bar helped with no issues. Food and drink at the bar in reception are great, the area is used for people working on their laptops during the day so feels like a really nice area to lounge in. Walkable to Beurs station and so many nice pubs/food places nearby. Ferry was a great LGBTQ+ club only a 3 min walk away. Check out is at 11 - we got out of our pod right before 11 and got ready to go in the bathroom to do final bits. When we went down to hand our keycards in we got told off for being late to check out (we didn’t realise it didn’t just mean out of the room by 11!) so beware you might be told off lol. Apart from that, great stay and would book again.

It was a good place to stay and near metro stations, beds were a little small but since we only stay for 2 nights we didn’t mind. Staff was super friendly and welcoming; specially Montse, she was so helpful and my dad (who only speaks Spanish) was happy to be able to communicate with someone in his language. So we are very thankful with her for being so nice!

What I did like was the design the comfort the location & the service was fantastic & made my stay at The Usual a real pleasant experience! There were a few hiccups at the beginning of my stay, but were sorted out swiftly & compitently, which again made my stay a thoroughly enjoyable one.
