"We were four adults and a baby there for two nights in two rooms.
We arrived earlier than expected and had to wait a little for the room, but they let us in as soon as it was ready. They were kind to make sure our rooms were next to each other.
We were met at the parking in La Pavona and again getting off the boat in town. Great guidance each place so we never felt lost.
Lady was very nice and met us at the hotel and explained everything to us and showed us to our rooms. They were very clean and beds were comfortable with the necessary amenities.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with several great options. We were made to feel at ease and served promptly.
While they did have to do a repair while we were (on a roof across from us) they did it quickly and efficiently being careful to stop when we were passing by.
The second night there was thunderstorm that caused a power outage in the whole town early evening. They kept us informed as to what happened and what to expect the rest of the night. We weren’t expecting them to serve breakfast due to no power, but they had it ready and waiting.
We had no complaints or issues with the property or staff and were very pleased with our stay."
"We booked tours with the hotel. The guides are very good. During the boat tour, Luis was spotting animals quickly. We also enjoyed the nightly turtle tour. You have to buy a permit to enter the national park yourself- ask them about it when you check in (or anytime before the tour starts)"
"Nous sommes tombés en amour avec cet hôtel. Nous avions un bungalow avec air climatisé. Très utile car c'est chaud et humide en août. Nous avons vu des perroquets, des toucans et des singes hurleurs sur notre site. Nous avons aussi fait la sortie pour voir la ponte des tortues vertes. C'était vraiment super génial. Nous reviendrons certainement. La restauration est délicieuse. Tout était parfait."
"Fabulous stay at Miss Junie’s
Stayed there a full week
Room was spacious with comfortable bed and bedding
Large shower with hot water a bonus
Housekeeping was well done
Veranda was lovely to sit on during evening
Property is large with good sized pool
Location at north end of town so less noisy than in town.
Daily breakfast was plentiful and delicious
Staff were the best part of stay - assistance with arranging excursions. Victor was always there with a smile.
We would absolutely return"
"The staff at this hotel are nothing short of incredible. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and taken care of. We did all the tours with their partner Tuanis Tours and found the guides knowledgeable and fun. All the tours went on a little longer because the guides were determined to make sure we saw all animals possible. They even made the tours enjoyable the few times we got caught in the rain. The hotel was also super accommodating and helpful when a storm changed our return travel plans. Also the location is prime, the hangout space by the beach so tranquil. And it’s really great value for the price. Highly recommend booking and using them to organize all your time in Tortuguero"
"The hotel is close to the Tortuguero NP which means you will probably need to get a boat to get there. Once there it is a beautiful resort with a series of cabins connected by paths. The place is teeming with life. As soon as we arrived a group of spider monkeys started playing on the path to our cabin, right in front of us. You can book many activities at the front desk. We did the canal by boat, went to see the green turtles lay eggs at the beach and a night walk to spot some animals. They also have a large pool and restaurant and bars. The one reason why I am not giving it a top score is because the cabins were pretty basic. They were clean, but matresses could have been more comfortable. The bathroom had a shower with all the basic toiletries. There was no TV, fridge or air conditioning. Luckily for us, it was not extremely hot during our stay or otherwise it would have been impossible to sleep. On the plus side it had a small terrace where you could sit and enjoy the jungle around you. Breakfast was served everyday in the main restaurant. It was good and there was plenty to choose from, with cold and hot options. We had dinner in the restaurant as well. It was buffet style with a limited number of options to choose from, but enough for the two nights we spent there. Nevertheless, I think it is one of the best options to stay near Tortuguero and enjoy all the nature around you."
