"We arrived late at night due to unforeseen circumstances and had a difficult time getting into our room. No one was in the office and it was closed, so we had to knock on the door until someone came. They seemed very annoyed, but told us that our key was already in our room and the room was unlocked. We didn’t love that the room was accessible to anyone before we got there. The place itself was good. There was milk in the fridge and a couple of cookies. No frills place but it got the job done...

"We had a wonderful stay at The Moorings. In fact so lovely that we booked in again on our way back from Queenstown. Darren was very welcoming, he gave us some good tips for our travel routes and we had some great chats - a lovely guy. The property itself was very comfortable, well maintained, quiet, clean and had a lovely view of the lake. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Highly recommend!"

"Check-in was a breeze. The receptionist was very friendly. Room was relatively clean upon entering, though it smelled a little of bacon grease, I had to air out the room, which was simple to do as there are windows that are easily accessible on the patio door. The washer/dryer inside the unit was very convenient as well the kitchen stove and microwave. I have asked for a ground floor room due to the fact I didnot want to have to carry my luggage up the stairway, I was given an accessible...

"Convenient location in the middle of town, within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the lake. Room was a bit dated and on the smaller side - it felt quite cramped with two suitcases. We could hear noise through the walls but fortunately our neighbours didn't stay up late. The Wi-Fi was also weak and disconnected frequently. With a few upgrades, the motel could be quite nice."

"Fantastic place. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with living room (2 sofas) and full kitchen. Washing machine and a drier. A patio with chairs and table, big bathroom, great shower, heated towel rail. Views from main bedroom and living room to the mountains and lake. Netflix on the large TV. This was a perfect stop off on a long road trip of the South Island. Wish we’d had more than just 2 nights here. Can’t believe what great value this was. We had a ground floor room so you do get a little noise...
