"Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. "Beautiful house, grounds and pool. Attentive staff and nice food. Really enjoyed our one night stay. A bit difficult to find with sat nav so watch carefully for the brown signs. "

"This hotel was overall an outstanding experience. The rooms are somewhat quirky but met all of my needs and I had a very good night’s sleep there. My stay included dinner and breakfast. The dining room is lovely with a wonderful view of the garden.
