"My partner and I have been privileged to travel extensively. This was by far one of the finest stays we have ever had anywhere....it's like staying in a gorgeous history book or perfectly curated religiously themed museum. The grounds are lush and well manicured, night lighting is superb, museums are fascinating and free to guests, chocolate making and ceramics and candle making shops, gorgeous pools, a spectacular spa, amazingly charming staff, and lovely restaurant and bar. I could go on and on...
If you like being pampered, pay the extra and stay in the Spa rooms, since they afford you free and total access to the spa pool and hot tubs....quiet, enchanting. Be sure to spend lots of time walking around the grounds at night: it's truly magical....
Antigua is a gorgeous Spanish colonial city....just a bit spread out, and the Casa is on the edges of the historic district, so we relied on Ubers: they are crazy cheap. But be forewarned: the cobblestones make driving an adventure, especially after a couple of cocktails with dinner! And a tip: be sure to get to Posada Don Rodrigo for their tipico show of music, dancing, and costumes: it's a bit cheeky, but fun, and worth your time!"
