"The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful while checking in, the continental breakfast was good, and the pool and hot tub were nice amenities. Great location close to shopping, the pier, and restaurants. Only complaint is that there is only valet parking for $65 a day so we had to find a lot to park our car a block away which was much more affordable."

"The rooms do not cool down well. They were quiet and clean and otherwise fine - just too warm."

Tolle Gegend! Kaffee und Tee gibt es im Office."

"Location, property and staff were great, my only concern with our stay is that the room indicated it would sleep 4 however the pullout couch was a twin bed size. We were only there for 1 night so we managed but would have been an issue with a longer stay."

"Great location and amazing staff"

"We love to stay at Santa Monica Proper. Great location. Staff always helpful and attentive. Great vibe in common areas."

"I’m very stayed here in the past multiple times when working in the area because of the access to the water and free parking. This time around I noticed thy renovated all the rooms in a cool retro vibe, smart TVs and more. Previously the rooms were the only dated or negative about the location so this upgrade makes me love this place even more. They also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. As a lower cost motel it has more charm value and features than the expensive nearby hotel...
