"It was lovely and memorable and we truly enjoyed our stay and visit. The property's location is amazingly breathtaking, the staff attentive and professional and the food was wonderful. The breakfast buffet provided a variety of delicious bites for a diverse palate. Strolling or driving around the town was fun with something amazing to discover at every corner. Although the heating system didn't work too well and the windows weren't able to close efficiently, it was expected and managed by drawing the curtains closed. The room had some dust and cobwebs along corners, window sills etc., but it's a historical place, so again, expected. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample space for storage. We wished we stayed a few more days because it was worth the experience. The views from the room were magnificent. A bottle of wine was provided and that made for a sweet souvenir. Thank you Pousada Castelo de Estremoz for an unforgettable accommodation. "
"Very interesting place. We spent one morning just going around the building and reading about its history. The problem here is the expectations they create. This is not a luxury hotel with haute cuisine. It's a simple accommodation in a historic building, and if they had set my expectations accordingly I would probably leave a better review. It's worth visiting, the staff is nice and we enjoyed our time. Just don't expect a luxurious experience with exceptional food, because that's not what you'll get. Our bathroom had a leak, the shower head was tilted in a strange way, and there was a pistaccio shell on the floor of our suite's living room from the day we arrived until we left, despite daily cleaning."
"The setting of this property outside of Estremoz is bucolic chic, and Walter, the host, was extremely gracious. My stay happened to be the day of the recent power outage in Portugal, Spain, France and other areas of Europe. Not having power was of no consequence however; it only added to the charm of being in the countryside. Walter was a pleasure to talk with, and went out of his way to make me feel welcomed. The room was comfortable and had a nice private outdoor terrace next to the pool. If ever in Portugal again, I'll be going back to Reflexos d'Alma! Obrigado Walter"
