"In staying at 9 different hotels for our 2 week vacation this was our favorite hotel. We took the Gondola up to the hotel and then from there it was very easy to go to Grindelwald 'First' and was very accesible to some great hikes in the area, and then once the Gondola stopped at 6:00 p.m. it became very quiet and peaceful at the hotel. "Really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are small - but that is pretty typical in Europe. It was a little hot since we came during a heatwave and it does not have air conditioning, but the evenings were cool, and we could leave the patio door open for relief. It does get a little noisy in the early morning because that's when traffic starts to pick up.
