"We were welcomed to the property in the typical hospital German fashion proud to show the true beauty and cleanliness of their home. There were many amenities available to add to an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was superb included in the stay with lots of variety. The property was close to many sights and activities within walking distance. Great value for the cost of the stay."
"This is an excellent hotel for its price point! I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid. The rooms are clean though no frills. The staff is helpful and attentive. The spa was clean and nice, although it is only open for four hours in the evenings. If you are used to some of the more premium hotel/spas in the Berchtesgaden area, you won’t be impressed. That said, the fact that the Explorer had one, didn’t charge extra for it, and kept it very clean is a huge plus for me. The breakfast...
"Rooms were fairly spartan but clean. Lack of AC isn’t untypical but something for American travelers to remember as it was a bit stuffy. Location was outstanding. Unexpected bonus was the quaint restaurant with outdoor patio and the live German folk band concert that night. Enjoyed our time tremendously!"
"We loved this hotel!! The location was perfect! It’s opposite the main station which was fantastic for our arrival, trips out to konigsee and eagles nest and leaving to our next destination.
The hotel room was really large with a gorgeous balcony. The breakfast was incredible and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The pass for free local transport was a great bonus!"
