Holiday Inn Newark International Airport by IHG

"Love Hotels.com. But this Holiday Inn sucked. There was a long wait for room because they were not cleaned yet. I paid for early check-in and was not able to do it. The room had a strong musty odor..had to buy air freshener. The bathroom floor was soaking wet and we had to place towels on the floor to help dry it. The front desk clerk was wonderful and understood my issues. His partner and direct suprvisor was acondescending and made jokes about my need to get into the room for an important ZOOM meeting, as I paid extra for early check-in. He tried to make jokes until I intervened to let him know that this situation was not funny. I am contacting his manager today also."

"The place looks sketchy on the outside and the interior could use some work. Also towels/soap/etc should be somewhat provided or at least try to have a couple just in case to accommodate people that dont have those items readily available. Staff was amazing Ahmed helped me get situated when no one else was answering so I really appreciate him helping me get set up cuz it was kinda confusing getting in the rooms/home."

"The staff, was only seen once. After that I called and called and nothing. I didn't get the towel until the next day, I had to wait over 1.5 hours for him to show up. He didn't even know the duration of my stay. If you only need a bed to sleep, and you bring your own supplies, then this works. If you're expecting service, it's a joke. I will not stay here ever again."

"This place is a dump. Everything’s overgrown and dirty, outside amenities were not usable at all. The room couldn’t fit my suitcase. The bed is against a wall on 2 1/2 sides. It says it is a guest house at a villa or resort. It is in a residential neighborhood, urban, crowded, and unsafe. This is a total bait-and-switch, the pictures do not match the reality.I did not stay there. I left."
