"Don’t believe the one star reviews, this is an amazing, authentic experience with wonderful hosts. The property is spotless - this is a mineral spa and there will be deposits on the spa baths. The food is wonderful but they will struggle with significant dietary restrictions. We don’t eat meat and confirmed a couple of times this was OK well before we arrived. This is a Japanese resort. If you aren’t keen on an immersive experience this is not for you. The weather was terrible when we stayed...

"I told the hotel in advance I was vegetarian and I was incredibly well accommodated. The meals were vegetarian, well presented, diverse and delicious. Lots of new Japanese food experiences. The rooms are large and relatively clean, the futon beds weren’t very comfortable (but no futons really are) and the staff were all exceptionally helpful."
