I find it incredible that a hotel selling itself as “top end” gives its guests mattress toppers placed on top of a sprung divan rather than an actual mattress.
There is also an issue with the capacity of the restaurant meaning that on several occasions we could not have an evening meal.
This hotel has obviously had good investment in terms of facilities and its look. However it seems to have missed the basic point of a hotel which is to provide somewhere for guests to sleep and eat.
Looks good online but disappoints in reality. This is a shame as it could be excellent if they focussed these core needs."
"The management. We checked in all went well and when we got to the bedroom we noticed the safe was locked so I called front desk to report it and they said someone will come in about 20-30 minutes. I said ok. No one came and after 30 min I called again and got same response after the 3rd time they said they are busy and only the front desk staff can come. We had to go out so we took our valuables. Came back around 6 pm over 3 hours after we reported it and someone was in our room sorting it. Next day we went out for the afternoon and returned back around 4:30 and found the safe open with all our valuables in a plastic bag. Called reception and they said they sent someone to unlock the safe as it was reported the previous day by the customer who checked out they they could not unlock it. I told her why did they enter the room when we were not in . She had not explanation and said the manager had left for the day and I can speak to him in the morning. I was shocked. I raised an issue with the manager the next morning and he said he was sorry they had new staff so not trained or something like this. I asked what they will do to compensate for my stress? He said he will add points to my membership!!! Do I really want to stay again in a Radisson?? I suggested they pay for us to get a taxi to the airport and he just shrugged. Very sad as the Hotel was otherwise good breakfast and facilities great location. Same the management is not good. "
"The hotel itself is well located within walking distance to all (except for the Arctic cathedral) tourist attractions and the main “high street”.
The room was nice and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We appreciate that people generally have breakfast at a certain time and this meant that the restaurant was overly busy during this pinch point. However, there is no real structure or assistance from the hotel with this and therefore makes it feel chaotic. With this said; the spread served at the buffet breakfast has an extended variety of choices - amazing!
We would definitely stay here when we next visit during the summer sun!"

"From the moment we arrived we were a bit thrown off. The lobby was full of guests waiting to check in but the desk clerk would not process anyone before 3pm, even though rooms were obviously ready. So we waited in a long queue, with only one person working, to finally get checked in. This is not how you want to start your stay, especially after a long day of travel.
We were in Tromso celebrating my husband's birthday so I opted for a room upgrade at a cost of an extra $220 for 3 nights, bringing our grand total to $1320. To say the room was not worth that price is an understatement. Small, dingy, ourdated and unclean. We had a small balcony, but it was covered in snow, so were tracking snow in and out of the room. Also, I had advised we were coming for a special occasion and the hotel offered no gesture, which is surprising and disappointing.
The hotel offered meals which is convenient for some guests. The breakfast seemed reasonable but the dinner was a sad affair. On our last night, they served chicken egg rolls as a main course.
There was a roof top jacuzzi but, not only did you have to reserve time in 30 minute blocks, you had to pay for it!
When we checked out, I expressed my disappointment and also showed photos of the room's poor condition. The staff person refunded me $60. What an insult!
If you can find alternate accommodations in Tromso, take it. "
