Khách sạn South Bay , Kaikōura

"It was a quiet, high quality one night stay in Kaikoura."

"John was incredibly helpful and hospitable. The location is fabulous and the room was beautifully appointed. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean."

"Fantastic location to stay brilliant views to the snow capped peaks and a view of the ocean from the kitchenette. Was close to key amenities and was easy walking distance to town."

"Helpful staff, proximity to town, clean & warm. Only negative was disability bathroom not draining and always wet."

"The room was spotless and clean, really nice location. It was a shame that the pool was closed for the winter on a pair of 22 degree days when its been Spring for a month. I feel like thats something that needs mentioning on the website. We booked this one with the pool in mind and my kids were pretty disappointed that it was closed"

"Loved my stay here, large space with a view of the snowy mountains and farm land. Comfy bed. Will be booking again."

"It was good overall but the reason I didn’t rate a 5 star was because there was either bed bugs or flea in one of the rooms. I got bites all over the body and very itchy. I still got another 10 days on the road so that makes it quite frustrating. The place is great, just need to deal with the bug bites."

"The wifi was terrible. Not sure if that's because my room was the furtherest away or it's just bad in general. The room itself was nice and the toilets and showers were good. I told them I would be late arriving and they told me where to find the key. Overall the stay was good it was just the wifi that was the issue because I wanted to work from my room so it was kind of important."

"Was not happy with reception/owner - advised her that we would have to cut our trip short by a day due to a family situation that we heard about via phone as we were arriving at Bella Vista Kaikoura. Owner not helpful, insisted on full 2 day payment and offered no other options. We only stayed the one night and returned home the next day feeling disappointed by lack of empathy for our situation."

"Very cosy with comfortable beds and great to have a laundry with new facilities. Perfect location and quiet."

"This recently renovated property had friendly owners, was spacious and quiet. Would recommend for travellers on a budget."

"Lives up to its name!"

"Our welcoming host, Julie, made us feel like her personal guests. The rooms were spacious, cozy, spotlessly clean, and had a wonderful ocean view. The homemade shortbread cookies were a very nice addition to our evening balcony coffee"

"The location was ideal for completing the Kaikoura Península Walk, as it is located on the loop. It is a quiet location, a few minutes drive from the town center. The room was clean and comfortable with a small kitchen."

"The kitchen was great, it’s a lovely cottage set in beautiful gardens. "
