Hotel was lacking the polish of a Ritz-Carlton experience. Seemed like lots of deferred maintenance; stained or unclean carpeting (particularly noteworthy was stained 2nd floor carpeting); trees on resort needed grooming. Hotel room didn’t have garbage bags lining the baskets and when we did so the bags are way bigger than the wastebaskets, which was strange and aesthetically bad. Onsite restaurant Society Table was very slow service; prob sat there for 15 mins before being served water.
All of this said, the Don CeSar was nailed by Hurricane Helene and shutdown for 6 months. In fairness, many of the above details may have been missed bc they’ve had such bigger issues to address in order to get The Don back up and running operationally.
