"Okay, so boom, check it out! Welcome to another episode of Go or No Go. I had to stay at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Freeport, Illinois, because all the Rockford hotels were packed for basketball tournaments—or, my favorite, the Embassy Suites, was $563 a night. I was stuck in Freeport, driving 30 minutes back and forth—wasting gas and time.
Now, the outside landscaping was nice, and check-in was the quickest I've ever had—amazing. But once inside, things went downhill. The pool area had rust and looked tacky with construction cones. Walking down the hallway, it smelled musky and damp. The adjoining room’s door had locking issues, which made me feel unsafe.
The room itself? Basic, with stains on the carpet, bathroom walls, and door. I couldn't rest—it simply wasn’t up to my standards. The only upsides: a quiet room and a clean breakfast area with basic offerings. The hot tub was peaceful, but the jets weren’t powerful.
In the end, I give them a 2 out of 5. I was forced to stay, but I did not enjoy it. This is definitely a no-go—I wouldn’t recommend, and I will not attend again."
