"Property needed a deep clean. I sneezed a lot and had black dust come out of my nose. Heating didn’t work sometimes and the room was quite cold. "The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! "Lovely place, great location on the high street. Private, off street parking is very helpful - the entrance to it is through a very narrow archway which was a tight squeeze for an SUV. "Very well presented little cottage. There are a few different cottages here, we stayed in Valencourt. Quality furnishings and fittings, was very comfortable and cosy for a family of 4. Only frustration was the showers. Very difficult to get the right temp for the kids. (I think its to do with the hot water pressure) Even so it didn't spoil our stay, lovely touch with welcome pack in the kitchen, tea, sugar, milk, bread, butter, fresh orange juice and biscuits. "Had a lovely 2 night stay in granary cottage. Set in lovely private grounds. The cottage was very spacious, clean, eqipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful and very prompt with any request you may have. We would definitely stay there again!"
