"The staff at check in were extremely helpful and frie dly. The room was clean and very dark, although there was plenty of lighting, it was subdued. It was impractical having to walk all the way round the bed to wash your hands after using the toilet. Having a small sink in with the toilet would have been more convenient and sanitary."

"The bedrooms and halls probably needed to be refurbished 30 years ago. They certainly are long overdue a completely overhaul today. The bathroom was grimy and there was no excuse for not providing a single chair in the room. What was the point in providing even the tired dressing/table desk without one?"

"Room was average. Clean. Shower was a good size. Could have done with a few hooks both in bathroom and room. However bed was so high, had to climb to get on to it. And pillows very thick. Just about managed two nights. Could not have handled a third night sleeping on them. Breakfast was ok, not great but filled a whole. Front of desk staff very knowledgeable and gave us good direction for places to eat out of the centre of Oxford. The maps they had for park and ride etc were handy. Average stay."

"The hosts were lovely, and the check-in was fast. The room was clean and warm, and the bed comfortable. Sadly there was occasional noise coming from the road nearby and the trains passing by. Overall it was good."

"What an exceptional hotel, from cleaners to Hotel Manager. Such a friendly and welcoming environment. Hotel extremely clean, Easy parking, regular bus services (every 7-9 minuets to Uxbridge) (1 hour 10 minuets to central London by underground). I highly recommend The Red Lion Hotel "

"Good hotel, definitely need a car. Rooms are nice, ours was a little warm, unsure if air-conditioning was available. We were very fortunate and had a free upgrade - big room, clean, good bathroom also clean. Bar and restaurant are both nice - food at both is very good - although drinks prices are a tad high. Restaurant is a bit under staffed at breakfast, if busy getting a clear table can be a challenge. But all staff are really friendly and helpful. We also used the spa - the lounge is lovely...
