"Quaint little resort within walking distance to a few restaurants and a CVS with packaged donuts, danishes and coffee for breakfast. Gulf of America beachfront access with lounge chairs and a dock. I don’t recommend a boat bigger than 20’, it’s a tight turn to back down the sand ramp and there’s no electricity or water on the dock to rinse your boat or to flush the engine. We were wishing the was a pool, but otherwise, the cottages were very nice with full size appliances and tall ceilings. "

"I wanted to wait before writing the review and honestly I wish I could rate it better - but I was left with a less than satisfactory opinion of Gilberts.
The good - restaurant was very good, food we had was excellent and drinks were fairly priced for the Keys. The staff was very nice, especially Kevin and others we crossed paths with were great as well. The room was nicely sized and the bed was comfortable.

"If this place was renovated or updated it would be really nice. We had to switch rooms because the air conditioning had a loud whistling sound. The staff were really nice about the change which we appreciated. There were a lot of mosquitos around the property. The nearby water is pretty and we saw a gorgeous sunset. You probably wouldn't want to go swimming though because the water is filled with seaweed. It's more of a sit by the pool and water place, not really a beach go in the water place....
