Georgetown Lodge

8/10 Good

"Cheap and comfy motel-style rooms, most of which face onto a small grassy area. Free breakfast and a hot tub room. Mani building/breakfast room has a nice wooden interior, very 'lodge-like'. Ground floor rooms have the balcony to the top floor over their doors/window, so are quite dark (impossible to read a newspaper in bed without the light on). And as rooms back onto each other, there is no rear window for light/air movement, so rooms can become rank. Breakfast does not include any milk, Only tiny plastic packets of half-and-half, which makes cereal an exercise in overconsumption of plastic waste. Disposable plastic cutlery is also disappointing to find in use. The bright carpark lights around the buildings block out any possibly view of the stars at night. So much for getting out of the city.... There is a nice 0.6 mile (1 km) walk down along the lake to a bar/grill for cheap and delicious eats."

All good, the lady in the lobby at our late arrival gave all the instructions needed."
