"This was the perfect reward for reaching Tsumago after hiking from Magome on the Nakasendo. Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining. Amin was exceptionally helpful during our dinner and the front desk went above and beyond to help us navigate an alternate path back to Tokyo after we found out all trains out of Nagiso were cancelled due to rain.

"Interesting stay. Had fun lighting the fire and cooking our food over it."

"The staffs were very helpful—a good location near the station and some restaurants. The facilities are new and clean. The room was small but it was okay."

"For what I paid, it was good value. The bathroom was a bit small and hard to bath in if you are used to North American size bathrooms."

"Everything was very clean and the staff were helpful in checking me in. I let them know in advance I would be late and they guided me. It was also useful to have a convenience store nearby."

"The wonderful staff!"

"Great place. As billed. Food was meh. Onsen was fantastic. If you’re a guy, you get access to a big barrel sauna. If you’re a gal, you’re out of luck—their culture, their rules. Nice place though. Great rooms, any amenities you can imagine available for use—robes, slippers, air purifiers, humidifiers, even little bitty crocs for kids. Good location, short stroll to Kozenji Temple. Overall I’d recommend it."
