"The Melanesian is a long-standing feature of the Port Vila accommodation scene and it's very well-priced. The Orchid Rooms are very pleasant but they all face onto the pool area. So you will want to have the windows shut if the music played at the bar and people's conversations bother you. The AC unit in my room did an OK job with keeping the room comfortable even with windows shut. The rooms have a good desk and small table for people needing to do work while there. "This was our third time staying with Breakas. They could benefit from implementing a daily shuttle bus into Vila, given they go into Vila for other business. It would save guests and average of 150Vatu bus fare each, each way. A simple thing to add value. Also add Hammocks throughout the property and more service on the beach for drinks would be nice. Overall though, lovely little spot, great staff and close to town, yet so far away."

"A solid 3 star resort. Below par in a lot of things to include having mould in the rooms and poor bedding. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom were broken. We asked for a room change and still found the same issue such as broken fixture, mould and the bedding had an odour and lets not talk about the wifi. The island is beautiful thought with great staff and the food was good."
