I was told in advance on Whatsapp and again at the front desk that it could be done, and even after I let the front-desk person know (twice) it never was done. "This is one of the best hotels in Cuenca. They put a hot water bottle in your bed. It’s amazing, and there really isn’t service like this in most hotels. Also, the garden is really nice. I will definitely be back."
