We called the morning of, to let them know we would be checking in at 11:15 pm (road trip).
They called me FOUR separate times to ask if I had a dog( i don’t and had to tell them each time) so that was just weird.
We show up at about 11 and have to ring the service bell for about 20 minutes before someone finally came to the window. When she did, she was wearing pajamas and was clearly sleeping. (Okay, weird again but whatever- family business or something) she was immediately irritated that we were there. She asked me TWO MORE TIMES if I had a dog!?
Anyway, the actual problems were her being rude, trying to get me to pay an amount that was different than what I had already paid on hotels.com, asking me “what I was afraid of” when I told her I was only going to pay the amount on my confirmation.
I eventually gave in and gave her my card, I was exhausted and needed to sleep.
We get into the room, it’s disgusting.
No sheets on the bed, stains on the pillow cases, stains on the mattresses, shower curtain falling off and no inner liner. The mini fridge in the room didn’t work. Curtains didn’t close all the way and had been previously broken.
I knew this was an “economy” type listing but y’all the basics were not there. All I wanted was a place to sleep a few hours and shower before hitting the road again.
Just avoid. Drive another 30 minutes to anywhere else.

Disliked: Amenities
Decent for the price. Advertised as having free breakfast and WiFi, but neither were available. For some reason, pets only allowed on ground floor, which meant we did not get the room/bed requested. Bug-free and tidy.
Internet wasn't usable for me. No phone for wake up call, but lady at check-in let me borrow an old-school clock radio. She was certainly trying to be accommodating. Plenty of room, mini-fridge & A/C worked great, as did TV. Good shower. Gas station/convenience store across the street.
Dirtest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Dirty walls and flies everywhere. One light in bathroom area not working. Remote control not working-dead bateries. Totally disgusting. Sleeping area light has no light bulb in it. Just counted over twenty flies on walls.
Have never felt so unwanted in my life. Still don't know if I was staying at a Red Carpet Inn or Royal Inn. Registration card said Red Carpet, so did business card. Receipt showed it was Royal Inn. Trucks on highway made it very noisy.
Did not even want to ask a question at front desk not friendly at all. Information given was bad or incorrect.

A true review
Management was attentive but should be more reserved when complaining about other guests.
Only good thing was the rooms were clean. The beds were so hard we might as well have slept on the floor. The pillows were only an inch thick and were just as hard as the bed. The a/c would not stay on. It took all night for the room to finally cool down enough to sleep. It was cooler outside than in the room. We could also hear every single thing the drunk people next door to use were doing. Front desk did nothing about any of it. We are never staying there again. I wouldnt suggest Red Carpet Inn in Taylorsville, MS for anyone what so ever.
It’s not a bad place. I can tell they don’t get a lot of business. There were only one other couple staying there and they didn’t have a vehicle so it must of been long term. It’s older. You can tell there has been some remodeling of sorts. Not extremely recently but it’s alright. The air worked great. The tv microwave and mini fridge had no issues. They provide soap and shampoo. The tub and sink didn’t drain fast at all. No coffee maker in the room. No breakfast in the lobby The ice machine doesn’t make much ice. I did discover that it is part of a chain of motels. I didn’t know that. There is a dollar general and service station straight across the road and a diner and service station on the same side of the road as the motel. WiFi in the room is provided. I’ve definitely stayed in a lot worse. I would stay again. It’s just low budget but maintained fairly well. There are two floors of rooms. The stores across the street close around 10 or 11 and the store on the same side closed at midnight. I think the diner was 9 or 10. Don’t expect a 5 star stay but you won’t have bugs or anything to deal with.
The hotel was ok. My situation was covered since I need only 1 person checking in. The thing that displeased me was I had to run the water for 5 minutes to have hot water. Then I get charged an extra $10.00 for “fornication”. WTH??? If you got a chick or side friend do not stay because housekeeping charges more to clean compared to a single person staying. Oh yea and this is not my first hotel stay either.
We booked this hotel mostly because of it's closeness to Hattiesburg, (about half an hour). There is nothing to draw anyone to Taylorsville, not within 20 miles that we saw. That being said, it was a nice clean room, everything worked, the lady Ms Patel was very nice. WIFI was a little weak.
The carpet and walls were filthy; there was no hot water; I requested a non-smoking room but found there were cigarette ashes behind the nightstand and beside the bed; the bedspread was full of cigarette burns on both sides. The towels were supper thin, hard, and dengue, so much so the washcloths were actually black stained. The wi-fi did not work. There were no Kleenex; This was one of, if not the worst hotel I ever stayed in.

Disliked: Staff & service
The location was convenient but the room was ready
They were short staff and the room wasn't ready. The manager was very aggressive and I literally had to ask her to allow me to finish my sentence. She keep cutting me off. She at first said she didn't have a room. Once I ask if they don't honor expedia reservation, she said she will let me have the room they cleaning now. I didn't like the service and the uncertainty with my reservation and probably won't be back.
