"I had been pleasantly and patiently waiting in line at the hotel desk for about 10 minutes. The time was 4pm and I had been on the road for my max of 8 hours a day. (In my youth, I could easily and comfortably drive 12 hours a day... at 64 years old, 8 hours is my max).
