"I booked this motel because the Expedia listing prominently showed a beautiful river view, which was the main reason I chose it over cheaper options. However, the Queen room I was first given faced the road and had no view at all.
When I raised the issue, I was told that only King rooms have a view and that I would need to pay an upgrade fee. I paid an additional fee, but the replacement room still had most of the view blocked by a large tree, despite the motel being nearly empty.
The front desk interaction was unfriendly and unhelpful throughout. I also felt uncomfortable with how the discussion about my dog was handled and would have appreciated a calmer, more respectful explanation of the motel’s pet and service animal policy.
Overall, the experience felt misleading and unnecessarily frustrating."

"I booked my stay with Columbia Cliff Villas because I was specifically looking for pet friendly accommodations which this property advertises to be on Expedia. After my stay I was charged an additional $164. When I called to ask what it was for since I paid in full upon arrival, it was explained to me that I was being charged because I was in a none pet friendly room with a pet.
- When I booked there were no details listed about the room being none pet friendly.
- When booking it didn't seem like there were different types of room options available
- When I called about the charge it was mentioned that this wasn't an uncommon occurrence. This has happened a couple of times in the past few weeks.
- I was told they would see what they could do (but mentioned no guarantee of getting my money back)
- Columbia Cliffs never returned my call "
