Outstanding boutique hotel with very welcoming staff, cute rooms with plenty of space, lovely cafe, and literally close to everything! I’m definitely staying there again.zz
An overall fabulous experience. The hotel is quaint and charming with a mid century modern/organic vibe. The staff is delightful. The restaurant is on site and breakfast was bountiful and delicious. I would stay there 1000 times over
Great hotel in a fantastic location for a business trip to Leiden. Very attentive staff, lovely room and unique breakfast so I would definitely stay again.
This is a lovely hotel located in a spot that is easily walkable to both the train station and the central area. The hotel has a great atmosphere because it is housed in a historic building and has been smartly decorated. Breakfast was good as well. I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.
This hotel was absolutely fantastic. The building was charming, the staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and the area is so cute right next to the downtown shopping and historical areas. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area and would definitely come back to stay here.
Wonderful staff, unique modernization of a historic building. Breakfast was amazing. Close to Leiden University, canals, cafés, shops... beautiful pre-war architecture along canals and streets.
Interesting old barracks in a very convenient part of the city. Easy to walk to from the station and easy to walk around the city from this base. Friendly staff. Nice rooms and great shower.
My stay was excellent and the staff were very helpful. One suggestion would be to give more detail on where you can park with the booking confirmation this would have made everything a lot smoother at check in. Location is great for the centre of Leiden.
Hotel is beautiful and staff are very attentive and friendly. The setting is perfect for exploring Leiden. The only negative is that the area is noisy at night - even on a weekday in the middle of the night.
Great hotel with character in a superb location and lovely cafe area
The only problem were the bathrooms. I don’t want to see or hear my partner going to the toilet!! It’s just thin slightly frosted glass to the bathroom so you can see and hear everything going on. A distinct downside to this hotel. A shame as the rest of the hotel was lovely.
A beautifully renovated historic building staffed by attentive, friendly, and caring staff. What more could anyone want? The hotel’s delicious cafe and elaborate breakfast was the cherry on top. Stop reading reviews and book this hotel!
A lovely little hotel situated in the historic area and within walking distance from the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size with a strong shower, a window that can be opened for fresh air and a fan. The bed was comfortable. I would stay again.
Super adorable property. Bright and clean. Decorated very minimalist and pretty. Everyone very helpful! Close to everything. By a little canal and a windmill. Would definitely stay again
Conveniently located just off the main shopping and eating areas. Only 7 minute walk to the Leiden Central train station and from there it is an easy 15-20 minute train ride to Schiphol airport or 35-40 minutes to Amsterdam Central. We took a direct bus to Keukenhof Gardens from Leiden in April for a wonderful day seeing the tulips. Property is neat and clean and unique in structure, making it a nice change from cookie cutter chain hotels.
Rooms were nice (though next to no space for clothes) and hotel definitely cute.
Breakfast is fancy and very brunch-like. Bed is comfortable — the pillows didn’t really suit me, but I think that’s a matter of taste. Staff were sweet but I had very little interaction with them.
Sound isolation was non existent. Not only was the noise from the street as if people were actually walking though my room, the sounds isolation between the rooms and to the hall is also horrible. The bathrooms in one room face the bed in the neighboring room, as the pipes are noise as f… So when your neighbor decides to take a bath at midnight, make sure you have earplugs.
Also, my bed was made, but the bathroom had not been cleaned (sink was still dirty), the body soap was empty, and my dripping wet bath mat and towels had not been changed, which proved to be a problem the next day, when I needed to take a shower before work.
I basically loved the look and feel of the hotel, but I’ll find a different hotel for my next business trip to ESA.
Large open room, comfortable bed, and nice shower. Attentive staff. Dining area available during the day for coffee or light snacks, and lunch. Maybe 5-10 min walk to the train station for easy day trips, like to Delft or Den Haag. Several good cafes & restaurants nearby. Enjoyed the stay and visit to Leiden.
