"Great location and a true to life oldie worlde 400 year old hotel. But with a truly modern twist. Where old accommodates new. Pleasantly surprised by the lovely foyer/rest area and dining and breakfast rooms. Such a great place to hold a venue such as a wedding, a milestone birthday or a family christening etc. The rooms are very clean with exceptional decor. En-suite bathroom with a good shower, all toiletriers supplied, along with fresh towels. Impeccable made beds, with tea/coffee making facilities. Along with a colour television. Makes for a home from home stay. Lovely rooms with modern decor, clean and inviting. Beds are made up to the highest standard. Tea and coffee making facilities. A lovely en-suite bath. With a walk in shower. Having toiletries and freshly laundred towels. The morning breakfast is a great start to the day, offering a full varied range, from ceareals, English breakfast with a choice of butchers seasoned suasages, fied eggs, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, back bacon, baked beans, mushrooms. Pastries, toast, marmalade, jam, honey. Fresh fuit, low calorie yoghurt, vegan/ vegetarian oat milks, low calorie crisps, tea and coffee, fresh orange and apple juhce. Friendly and attentive staff who make your staff who are always at hand and making sure your stay is an enjoyable one. This along with a good bar and a great restaurant serving food. Especially Sunday roast dinner a must to have, a lovely outside garden. To sit outside in those lovely hot sunny day"

"This is my wife and I's favourite hotel, we love staying here, I think the cleaning staff do an amazing job, as the rooms are always clean and immaculate, topped up wit all the essentials, the, unsung heroes in my opinion! Some of the front of house team are the warmest and most welcoming, people I've ever met, I have say thank you to Maria for looking after us in such a high degree, she left us feeling we wished we could have stayed longer, which we will do next time because of her warmth and regards to us and her other guests, she deserves to be nurtured to growth and ... IBIS, you can't pay enough for what she gives your hotel and us, id also like a special mention, and share our appreciation to Gorsia{Manager}, in ore and appreciation of her enthusiasm, professionalism and work ethos, couldn't thank her enough for her attention to detail and all our needs. We enjoyed our breakfast, only thing I'd add is bring back the fried/poached eggs! "On arrival greeted by reception as if they’d been having a bad day and letting it show. Hotel is pleasant enough but I don’t expect luxury what I do expect a comfortable bed. My expectations were not met here. Easily the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Mattress must have been 20 years old. I resorted to pulling out the sofa bed at 2am it was that bad. Better but not a great alternative. Maybe I got unlucky. "

"Stayed here very recently for a few nights for a family wedding nearby. The property itself feels almost brand-new, and it was impossible to find fault with anything. From start to finish we had a fantastic stay - every single member of staff we encountered at the desks, breakfast, and cleaners, were incredibly polite and helpful. The facilities were great (excellent hot shower), beds were huge and breakfast was fantastic, even catering for my gluten-free dad. Would 100% recommend this hotel for your next stay."

"Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable and the restaurant on 14th floor was beautiful. I do recommend arriving early for dinner as there was an hour wait for us at 1900 hours. Will definitely be returning "

"1. Hotels.com description for a Superior Room is 31 sq m, with a seating area with a sofa and chairs. Ours (room 275) was tiny, with room for a desk and a chair in the corner. Yet, Front Desk assured us this was a Superior Room. 2. Getting hot water out of the shower is non-trivial. Initially we had to complain to get the boiler restarted, then we had to ask for someone to come to the room to explain how to operate the shower tap (involved aligning the lever at a particular angle combined with pushing and turning the temperature knob). Instructions in the bathroom would be helpful. 3. No hairdryer in the room, had to call and request. When the attendant arrived, he asked to check our wardrobe as if he didn't believe us. 4. Breakfast, if ordered on Hotels.com at time of booking, seems to be £20 per room. If ordered in person on the morning, it's more than twice the price, £22 per person. So plan accordingly! 5. Lots of stairs. Our room was only accessible via stairs, which can be tiring depending on how much luggage you have. 6. The grounds are fairly nice. The peacocks are striking, through depending on their mood (and, presumably, the season), they do get into shouting matches with each other which can make for a less-than-tranquil experience on the lawns. Thankfully most rooms are well-insulated and the noise is a lot softer. The lawns therefore are fertilized with healthy amounts of peacock droppings. And occasionally some of the tabletops in the lawn area, too."
