"Stayed in Hogfish. I called when I booked it and again before we arrived to confirm we had a boat slip reserved. When we arrived we did not have a boat slip and couldn’t get our boat in until the next day because they were full. There is no fishing from the houseboats, the entire marina is covered in grass which stinks to high heaven during low tide. During low tide, the water would get so low our house boat stopped floating, loudly creaking and cracking as it rested on the ground. The sand gnats are bad unless there’s a breeze. As far as Hogfish goes, brace yourself. I would call this glamping at best. The house chronically leans left and never levels. As a result I don’t think they can effectively pump out the holding tanks when they do get pumped. I was told they get pumped on Thursdays but ours only got pumped when I asked for it to be done because the portapotty stench was making us gag. The shower is moldy and cracked and because the house leans it can’t drain properly. The front AC works sometimes but the back AC does not work well and leaks everywhere, there’s a hole in the roof where you can see daylight, the patio furniture is dry rotted, stove is cracked, loft is too dirty to even store items in, floor was so gross I bought cleaning supplies and scrubbed it, futon was broken and we bungeed it… We did end up extending our stay by a day based solely on the fact that the boat was already in the water and moving marinas would be a pain but I was so happy to go home!!"
