"I really enjoyed my time at Dark Horse. The owner and staff are warm and welcoming, and helped out in many ways, both big and small. Breakfasts and dinners were good and the lounge/dining room was a comfortable place to relax after riding. It was great value for the money. "Lovely staff who genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Very comfortable beds in basic but clean rooms. Great common area with nice amenities. We felt very at home. While the location is great for skiing - lift is right across the street, it was very hard to get into town, to grocery, etc. "

"Nice lodge, close to bus line that reach the skiing area. Friendly and guests as well as management. All people are there for the skiing and you can make your own breakfast, lunch and dinner in the kitchen. I would stay there again if going again."

"Really enjoyed our stay at Bonfire. The owners who have recently taken over were super friendly and very accommodating. Free massage chairs and onsen were great. Short stroll to Happo One gondola. Hakuba 47 /Goryu shuttle leaves from out front and only a few minutes walk to Happo Bus Terminal for access to all of the other snowfields."

"Koki and Naomi were wonderful hosts! Koki is an AMAZING chef, look forward to breakfasts and dinners everyday! Lodge is near goryu mountain, ski-in. Private onsen is amazing after a long day at the slopes!"

"We stayed 6 nights at hakuba house with Grant and his team. The room was comfortable especially the bed. Bathroom was tiny but that's common in japan. The breakfasts were great and the dinners excellent when we couldn't be bothered to go out. The hotel offers dinner drop off's which is great and there are plenty of places to eat within a 15-20min walk home. Location is good and if your a good skier cab ski in/out. If not it's only a short walk to the slope. "
