"I never write reviews for hotels because they are all generally good, but this hotel is AWFUL. The lobby is alright, but once you go up to the other floors where you’re staying, the smell of cigarettes and weed is overwhelming. There was NO ventilation in toy without a window, so there was a portable fan that was left on. My room smelled like weed and mold. I left Garner Hotel the day I checked in to stay at another hotel nearby because the shower drain wasn’t working and the room was in a terrible condition. The manager was delusional enough to tell me the shower drain is working. NOBODY should stay here!! AVOID this hotel! Book this hotel if you’re a chain smoker and want to smell cigarettes and weed during your entire stay. "

"The property was clean, bright, and very ambient. The staff were polite and courteous,, but lacked the true focus of customer care. We got there around 11am on the day of our arrival expecting to wait for our 3pm check-in. We were kept waiting for the room even though it was ready before 3pm. Then I had to request check-in even though we were sitting in reception not 2 metres away from the desk. Extremely poor customer service."

"we really enjoyed staying here, we paid for an upgraded room with its own living room and bedroom, and it was very nice. The only thing we didn't like is the chimney smoke came into our bedroom from the fireplace they have in the hotel so we couldn't have the window open part of the time, but it wasn't a huge problem,and our view was nonexistent as it was just looking out over the top of the hotel roof. Also if you're staying facing the street, it is very loud with traffic at night to sleep if you need to open the window to get air. They provided a fan that we tried to run, but it was so loud. It made it almost worse lol. the breakfast was completely amazing, just about the best I've ever seen. Parking was expensive but you are right by the city center, so it's worth it."

"Room was clean, price very reasonable for a 5* and so close to city centre. My only gripe was the noise level given the room location - I was close to the inner hotel area, 1002, and bar music & chatter was on until midnight, also the location felt like a thoroughfare, either the staff was vacuuming outside or people walked past talking loudly, etc. All ok and normal but I do think the room door needs to be soundproofed or a second door, after the bathroom, needs to be added to close off the bedroom part. It was not as relaxing as I was hoping it to be. Overall though, very nice hotel and I'd come back (asking for a different room location). "
