"Not as expected"

"Check in was easy. The lobby is very large and has a coffee station, a snack bar where you could purchase chips and drinks to bring back to your room. Next to this is a restaurant where we had dinner. It was very nice overlooking one of the many canals. Our room was on a high floor. It is a very busy and noisy area with all of the boats and cars passing by. There were ear plugs on our nightstands to drown out the noise just in case. It did not bother us city folk lol. The room was clean and had everything you could need including an iron and ironing board. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were here for a cruise and they had a shuttle to the port for a small fee. I would definitely stay here again."

"They need to improve check in, the room was not ready at 4p. I tried to check in at 12p and 4p, my room was not ready until 445p and others were waiting as well. Upon checking out they did not provide a receipt stated I would get it later after the room was cleaned. I still haven’t received a receipt. They also put a $500 additional hold with the total I paid. Valet is $75 and self parking is $69. There is not any other overnight parking close by. Overall, the hotel is nice and clean. "

"Check in person was a disaster. Our room keys stopped working after one use. They fixed them and they died when we checked out today. I ordered a margarita at the bar and it was $30.00!!! Ugh. "

"Very handy for cruises"

"-No chairs in the room. Just a Miss Muffet tuffet. -No separate bathroom - frosted glass around a toilet and a shower within the room space, and a sink in the room itself. So there was very little privacy for each of us (spouse and I). The bed was not very comfortable - a motorized raise/lower affair, maybe to compensate for no chairs or couch. But the price was that it wasn't as good for sleeping as a regular bed. We called to ask for a chair to brought to the room, and the operator said sure. But it never arrived, though we were there for 3 nights. So no follow-through on that. To top it off, the sink was clogged. Positives include an excellent location, clean facility and generally polite staff...but again, poor follow through for us. Overall, we don't understand how the ratings for this hotel are high. It's an example of the current trend to remove room spaces and furniture to save costs, while creating a cool vibe that seems to imply this is the way it should be. We don't agree, and will not be back. "
