"On the left side of the door was a big smudge that looked like either chocolate or blood. Couldn't tell which. I did report it to the front desk. There were 3 of us in the room. The next day they did not restock enough towels. Had to ask for more of them. The window had duck tape on it. There was a zip tie on the curtain. The room had a weird smell. "The entire hotel looked a bit run down if one looked at it up close, but the inside of the room was acceptable and the bed was comfortable enough. There was also good water pressure in the shower. However, one of the handles on one of the drawers was broken and never replaced, and the bathtub needed to be resurfaced. Similarly, the room appeared clean overall, but the water holding part of the coffee machine was so dirty that I could not drink coffee in the morning. Only one packet of decaf...

"My recent stay at Turf Valley Resort was disappointing. The first issue was finding a spider on the ceiling of my room, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. I was also looking forward to relaxing by the pool, but that experience was ruined by an overly aggressive lifeguard who repeatedly approached and interrupted guests.
