"We planned to stay for only 1 night - but after the warm reception and the incredible meal we decided to stay an extra night. The building has been tastefully renovated - keeping its 400 year old charm while offering rhe modern comforts of stong water pressure, air conditioner and a lift! Definitely not a given even in 4 star accomodation in some of these smaller towns. The hotel owners make you feel like family - so lovely and hospitable. "Beautiful architecture in a convenient location for the ferry. Bilbao not far in a car. Nothing though within walking distance or by use of public transport. Very good breakfast choices. Dinner very limited choices and service slow. Nothing in room fridge or hotel to purchase on a very hot evening other than restaurant. Seemed to prioritise golf club. Small indoor pool only. Always busy. Three outside loungers only for the entire hotel. Nice but a rather restrictive."
