"Everything was wonderful, the beach is perfect, the food and drinks are delicious, the staff is very friendly and helpful. In my personal opinion, this is the best beach hotel in El Salvador, an unforgettable experience."

"So the location is nice on the beach. However there is nothing else around besides two bodegas about 10 minute walk. I left early because I caught their night time restaurant security guard trying to steal cigarettes off my patio table early one morning. I reported it to the staff but nothing happened. Saw the same guy back the next day and I was freaked out and decided to cut my trip short. The villas are shipping containers. Granted the price was low but the bed was rock hard and the couch was beyond uncomfortable. Paint peeling, rust and one temp showers. My unit had a nice hole right by the bed thru the little bit of drywall they did line the shipping container with. Food at the restaurant was good however expensive for the area. Seems like the restaurant is the big goal for them and the hotel part is an afterthought. So if you don’t mind sleeping on an uncomfortable bed and possibly getting robbed by their security go for it. I hate to write bad reviews but it is what it is. "

"The facilities are new & have a very nice modern feel. However, the rooms are lacking because there is no mini fridge, no chairs, no table, no hangers to hang clothes & no iron for those of us who would like to iron our own clothing. The pools are a little weird because they have these huge planters in the middle of them which really don’t allow for you to swim freely. Another issue I have is that the big pool side beds that provide shade and relaxation get taken by the people who pay for day passes and not the people who actually pay to stay at the resort overnight. The breakfast was just OK. They only had scrambled eggs with pork sausage in them and I don’t eat pork, and when I requested to have another type of egg, the lady told me to eat pancakes . Finally, a gentleman said that they could make eggs for us on the side, but my husband was told that all he could get was 2 eggs. It’s a buffet style, but it’s not an all you can eat buffet. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t eat a lot, but we felt that they were very stingy with the portions. The property is on the bay side, so in order to get to the beach you have to walk through Bahia del Sol Resort. We thought that it would be nice because it’s supposed to be a prestigious resort, but it was really a hot mess. It was dirty & it was overcrowded with a lot of drunk people. Overall Astra is a nice place to relax & the food from the main restaurant for lunch and dinner is gourmet & excellent. They just need to improve a few things"
