Beautiful property with breathtaking views! House was built in 1060, making it almost 1000 years old! It had an addition built less than 200 years ago making it feel grander. The rooms are spacious with on-suite bathrooms. Highly recommend staying for more than as n a couple of nights. Small medieval village with some great local restaurants

Ein wahres Kleinod in einem (ehemaligen) Nebengebäude einer Kirche! Wir hatten das Deluxe-Doppelzimmer (Empire), bestehend aus einem Schlafzimmer und eigenem Bad mit Parkblick. Die Einrichtung ist phantastisch (Empire-Stil), das Zimmer sehr geräumig und mit Blick auf einen herrlichen, großen Garten ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist (natürlich) französisch geprägt (selbstgemachte Marmeladen, Käse, Baguette und Croissants), wird auf Wunsch mit Eierspeisen angereichert und kann gemeinsam mit anderen Gästen in einem fast schon prunkvoll zu nennenden, großen Speisezimmer genossen werden. Die Hausherren sind sehr freundlich und zugewandt und insbesondere die zahlreichen Tipps und Empfehlungen von François zu Unternehmungen und Restaurants in der (näheren) Umgebung haben uns begeistert. Dieses Chambre d’Hôte ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Chateau Orchaise visit

We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. Our host Antonine was incredibly hospitable, gave us lots of advice about the surrounding area and châteaux. The breakfasts were fantastic and we met the other guests, served at a large table where we could all talk to each other and discuss our plans for the day.
Such a beautiful relaxing house and garden. Highly recommend a visit?

We had a wonderful time! The property is lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, and such a wonderful opportunity to talk with Antoine and the other guests, learn more about the history of the place and tips on what to do around the area. We highly recommend it.

Hosts, Antoine and Anne Marie, went the extra mile to provide a most welcoming stay. Fabulously restored house and stunning gardens set in a wonderfully peaceful rural village. Excellent variety of things to eat, especially a large variety of jams made by Antoine along with honey from the beehives in the garden. Need to spend longer with Antoine and Anne Marie on our next visit as they are exceptionally good hosts.

Luxury behind the plain façade - a hidden gem

The hosts were fantastic. We were provided with luxurious accommodation set in a large acreage of lawn and wooded grounds. The large house wash elegantly furnished. The hosts joined us at breakfast and we had many fascinating discussions on numerous topics as well as recommendations of visits to suite our interests

Memorable experience

We had and incredible experience and lovely days at Le Prieure d'Orchaise. You will be lodging in an amazing and beautiful place with lot of history and comfort. The facilities are very classic and original with all modern comfort you could expect. A part of that you have at your disposal an incredible botanical garden.Its a paradise of beauty and peace. But the best thing was the convenience with the owners. Very lovely and friendly host, always worried to provide to you an outstanding service that’s make you feel at home. We definitely recommend it and will come back again

I hesitate to write because I don't have the words to properly share what a wonderful experience it was to stay at Le Prieure d'Orchaise. We met friends there and Antoine and his lovely wife were so welcoming. They shared so much information about the history of the area and the history of the priory. They did an excellent job recommending restaurants for us to enjoy. The gardens are beautiful. Such a peaceful place to stay. We will return.

Herrgårdskänsla

Vi bodde högst upp i en familjesvit i den gamla prästgården. Huset är dekorerat med mycket smak och många föremål som bär och berättar en historia. Bakom prästgården fanns en underbar botanisk trädgård med fantastisk blomsterprakt. Där finns bla 300 olika sorters pioner. Värdparet var mycket välkomnande och verkligen experter på samtalskonst ”á la francaise” under tex frukost och aperitif. De var också mycket bra med barnen. I närheten finns flera berömda slott som Blois och Chaumont och själva besökte vi Chambord.

Can't Wait to Return!

I can't say enough good things about this property! We absolutely loved our stay. We've already recommended it to friends and family; we can't wait to go back again. The home and garden are beautiful and comfortable - the linens were some of the softest I've had at any hotel! They were very accommodating of our baby - they set up a pack-n-play for her to sleep in and a high chair for breakfast. The breakfast spread had lots of options, all of them delicious. Antoine is such a great host. Having breakfast with him each morning and hearing his stories was a delight. He gave us recommendations of things to do in the area and set up reservations at amazing restaurants nearby. Overall this place and this family made us feel at home.

5 Star Property

This was absolutely the finest chambres d'hôtes we have ever visited. A luxury oasis behind gates tucked away in the Loire valley. The owner is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and everyone there strives to provide a 5 star experience. The owner speaks French, English and Spanish fluently, having previously lived all over the world. There is A/C that blows very cold in the rooms, amazing grounds with insane gardens, eggs for breakfast from their own chickens, a huge jacuzzi spa, free bicycles that are brand new, amazing, deluxe fresh breakfasts, and on and on and on. The owner truly strives to makes this as nice as a stay in a 5 star hotel. Truly the best stay we have ever had (in any country) outside of an Aman hotel or the Royal Overwater Bungalow at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. Excellent bang for the buck. Cannot recommend this enough.

We had an absolutely extraordinary stay at the Prieure D'Orchaise. Do yourself a favor and book this property before the rest of the world finds out about it. Our family was looking for a unique stay in the Loire valley region that was within driving distance of the various chateaux. We initially booked the Prieure because it sort of looked like a castle and we thought the kids would enjoy the stay. Not only did we enjoy ourselves, but we will almost certainly return! The room was superb, the breakfast exceptional, and the grounds inviting. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed playing with the hunting dog and had a fantastic time looking at the various treasures in the Prieure (the pirate chest was a favorite). The host is incredibly friendly and entertained us with a variety of stories about the Prieure and the family's history. The host was also kind enough to walk us to the village bakery one morning. The Prieure is conveniently located about 20 minutes from Blois and about 45 minutes from Castle Chenonceau and Castle Chambord. By vehicle it is approximately 2 hours from Paris Orly airport. I can't say enough good things about the Prieure D'Orchaise. Just extraordinary hospitality and exceptional accommodations. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. We are eager to return!

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Wir hatten als Familie mit 3 Kindern eine Suite im 1. Stock mit 2 sehr großen durch einen kleinen Flur verbundene Zimmer mit jeweils einem eigenen Bad. Das Gartenzimmer hatte einen wunderschönen Blick durch zwei zweiflügelige Fenster auf den herrlichen Garten. Es war ausgestattet mit einem richtig großen bequemen Doppelbett und einigen antiken Möbeln. Sehr gemütlich. Absolut ruhiges Zimmer. Klimaanlage ist vorhanden, haben wir im Spätsommer jedoch nicht gebraucht. Das rückwärtige Zimmer hatte zwei Einzelbetten und ein Zustellbett hat auch noch bequem reingepasst. Auch dieses Zimmer war sehr stilvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Das ganze Haus ist in einem makellosen, jedoch nicht sterilen Zustand. Einfach eine wunderschöne historische Villa. Das Frühstück wird im Erdgeschoß in zwei miteinander verbundenen Salons serviert. Man sitzt an einem großen Tisch zusammen mit anderen Hausgästen und sogar dem Hausherrn. Der Hausherr ist ein sehr zuvorkommender, hilfsbereiter und weitgereister Herr, gibt gerne Tipps für die Reise, hat uns gleich ein sehr schönes Restaurant gebucht und man kann sich sehr nett unterhalten. Der das Haus umgebende botanische Garten ist ebenfalls sehenswert. Es ist kein unpersönliches Hotel, sondern eher wie ein sehr angenehmer privater Besuch. Definitiv ein Reisziel, zu dem man gerne zurückkehrt. Vielen Dank

Beautiful, Authentic, Enchanting Stay

We stayed for almost a week in August (two adults, two teens). We had been intrigued by the very strong reviews and scores and the photos looked beautiful. It was our first time in the Loire Valley. I must say, the highly positive reviews were exactly correct. We travel a considerable amount all over the world and this was, hands down, our best stay anywhere. The property is inspiring. The garden is a clearly a labor of love. My wife and I walked throughout it most evenings with a glass of wine. Just stunning and genuinely uplifting. Our two rooms were what we envisioned as quintessential Loire Valley, spacious, immaculately clean, and very comfortable in a classic French style. The house was stunning, beautifully updated and maintained. Again, genuinely inspiring. Breakfast was not only filling and tasty but full of wonderful conversation and people met each morning. Last but not least, our hosts, Antoine and Anne-Marie are absolute gems of human beings. Their generosity and helpfulness is only matched by their passion for and dedication to the Prieure resulting in an incredibly authentic experience for us. This stay has raised our expectations of what is possible. I have always heard of stays that change your perspective but this was the first stay of this magnitude for my family and I. Thank you Antoine and Anne-Marie. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Antoine and Francois were excellent hosts. Breakfast conversation was great, as well as the evning conversation and nightcap. I would most definitely recommend the Prieure as a place to stay.

We had a great stay! The facilities were excellent, the garden and surroundings were beautiful, and the place had a really authentic feel. The breakfast was delicious, and the owners were very friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. We also really appreciated having air conditioning, especially with the hot weather. We would definitely stay here again!
